Description ( English )

[Picea omorika]-dominated forests of the Drina basin of central Serbia, occuring also in Bosnia and Hercegovina. [Picea abies], [Abies alba] and mosses [Dicranum scoparium], [Ctenidium molluscum], [Eurhynchium striatum], [Hylocomium splendens], [Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus] are usually also present. Other trees and shrubs are represented by [Salix caprea], [Pinus nigra], [Rosa pendulina]. The herb layer is relatively species-poor, the most frequently occuring species being [Valeriana montana], [Vaccinium myrtillus], [Luzula sylvatica], [Hieracium transsilvanicum], [Gentiana asclepiadea], [Erica carnea], [Calamagrostis varia], [Veronica chamaedrys], [Lathyrus vernus], [Euphorbia amygdaloides].
