Description ( English )

[Olea europaea var. sylvestris]-dominated formations. A climax olive forest, with [Ceratonia siliqua] and [Pistacia lentiscus] exists on the north flank of Djebel Ichkeul in northern Tunisia. Elsewhere, the communities most resembling olive forest are found in southern Andalusia ([Tamo communis]-[Oleetum sylvestris], extinct?), in Menorca ([Prasio majoris]-[Oleetum sylvestris]), Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria, Crete.
