Description ( English )

Tundras of the southernmost tundra belt, characterized by an abundance of medium small and small shrubs, including 1-2 m tall [Alnus fruticosa], 0.5-0.8 m tall [Salix lanata], [Betula nana], [Betula exilis], [Salix reptans], [Salix pulchra], and of dwarf shrubs, in particular, [Vaccinium uliginosum], [Vaccinium vitis-idaea], [Ledum decumbens], [Rubus chamaemorus], [Empetrum hermaphroditum], [Empetrum nigrum], [Arctostaphylos alpinus]. They extend south to the wooded taiga belt.
