Description (English)

Deciduous broadleaved forests, most commonly dominated by poplars (Populus), willows (Salix), oriental plane (Platanus orientalis) or Liquidambar, on periodically flooded alluvium or gravel terraces and streamsides in humid localities in the mediterranean zone and Macaronesia. Also includes streamside Rhododendron ponticum and birch (Betula pendula var.fontqueri) forests in Spain.
