Description ( English )

Deciduous thickets of Western Europe and western and northern Central Europe formed by [Rubus] spp., [Frangula alnus], [Sorbus aucuparia], [Corylus avellana], [Lonicera periclymenum], [Cytisus scoparius], characteristic of forest edges, hedges and woodland recolonisation developed on soils relatively poor in nutrients, usually acid, mostly under climates with strong Atlantic influence. Substitution communities of the [Quercion robori-petraeae] (c.f. units G1.81-G1.86, parts of G1.87 and of G4.71).
