What is Google Earth network link

Google Earth network link is a feature that allows users to see many different Google Earth (KML) files as layers within a single file. User can choose by selecting checkboxes which layers he/she would prefer to see.

Available layers

Currently there are two types of layers:

  • European Biogeographical Regions - divides Europa into different bioregions. Each region has different colour. To see regions names and their colours, click on the plus mark in front of the bioregion layer. This layer is visible by default.
  • Species distribution - shows grid distribution of all the species in the database. Each species has its own layer. By default all the species distribution layers are hidden. User can choose by selecting checkboxes which species he/she wants to see.

If you click on Network link (KML file, pre-requires Google Earth installed) it will launch Google Earth.
