Remark Most of our nature reserves are designed to protect biodiversity, though some aim to protect geodiversity (geological reserves, IUCN code set to III). There is no distinction between continental and marine reserves (all are treated here, and categorized IUCN IV, though part of them sometimes clearly relevant for IUCN I). Note also that corsican reserves are now legally distinct and to be found under a different entry.Since the last update (number 155), 7 new sites have been created and one has been deleted in Guadeloupe (due to National Park extension), there are now 161 nature reserves.
