Description (English)

Dry calciphile grasslands of sunny stony slopes and cliff ledges of the Swabian and Franconian Jura and of the Franconian Main region, dominated by Sesleria albicans, usually accompanied by Bromus erectus and often, particularly in the Jura, by Festuca pallens and alpine species below their normal zone; they are somewhat intermediate between the sub-Atlantic very dry grasslands and the pale fescue grasslands of unit R1B5, particularly of unit R1B511, and are sometimes included among the latter.
