Herb-rich grasslands, 20-40 cm tall, developed on sandy soils, often on inundatable terrain, under cold-temperate climates, characteristic of the northern boreal zone of Fennoscandia and northwestern Russia, extending locally in the middle boreal zone of eastern Sweden and Finland and in the alpine and arcto-alpine zones of the Caledonian chains of Scandinavia, dominated by Festuca ovina with a cort
