Atlantic Alopecurus-Sanguisorba grasslands
Description (English)
Lowland mesophile hay meadows of England, characteristic of areas where traditional hay meadow treatment has been applied to seasonally flooded alluvial soils, formed by Alopecurus pratensis, Festuca rubra, Cynosurus cristatus, Lolium perenne, with less abundant or less constant Holcus lanatus, Anthoxanthum odoratum, Dactylis glomerata, Trisetum flavescens, Agrostis stolonifera, Bromus hordeaceus, Arrhenatherum elatius, Deschampsia cespitosa, Festuca arundinacea, with many dicots, among which Sanguisorba officinalis, Filipendula ulmaria, Leontodon spp., Taraxacum spp. are often abundant and Fritillaria meleagris particularly noteworthy.
