Deciduous broadleaved forest

Description (English)

Forest dominated by summer-green non-coniferous trees that drop their leaves for part of the year and goes dormant during cold weather. Includes forest with mixed evergreen and deciduous broadleaved trees, if the broadleaf deciduous cover exceeds that of evergreens. Old plantations which have many of the characteristics of natural or semi-natural forests are included, more intensively managed, and less natural, forests are included in vegetated man-made habitats.
