Ostrya carpinifolia-dominated woods of the supra-Mediterranean zone of the Maritime and Ligurian Alps, the Mediterranean and Adriatic slope of the southeastern Alps, the Dinarides, the Hellenides, the Apennines and the large central Mediterranean islands.
