Carpinus orientalis forests
Description (English)
Carpinus orientalis-dominated facies of the thermophilous woods of units T193, T194, T196, particularly abundant in Greece, the middle Balkan peninsula, Anatolia and the Caucasus. Often of secondary nature, they replace oak forests on eroded soil after deforestation, especially on calcareous soils.
