Carpathian rowan birch forests

Description (English)

Betula pendula-dominated woods of the upper montane level of the Southern Carpathians and the Eastern Carpathians, on superficial brown acid soils of steep slopes in the zone of mixed spruce forests, rich in Sorbus aucuparia and accompanied by Picea abies, Oxalis acetosella, Vaccinium myrtillus, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Pulmonaria rubra, Salix silesiaca, Calamagrostis arundinacea and some Fagetalia species.
