Silicicolous southwestern encinares

Description (English)

Formations of Quercus rotundifolia with Myrtus communis, Pulicaria odora, Pistacia lentiscus, Phillyrea angustifolia and Arbutus unedo occupying the siliceous soil of the thermo-Mediterranean levels of eastern Andalusia between the Sea of Alboran and the coastal Tejeda, Almijara, Alpujarra and Gador ranges, a few granitic outcroppings of the Sierra Morena and limited enclaves of the Badajos region. They have almost entirely disappeared.
