Coniferous forest

Description (English)

Forest dominated by coniferous trees, mainly evergreen (Abies, Cedrus, Picea, Pinus, Taxus, Cupressaceae) but also deciduous Larix. Includes forest with mixed coniferous and deciduous broadleaved trees, if the cover by coniferous trees exceeds that of deciduous trees. Old plantations which have many of the characteristics of natural or semi-natural forests are included, more intensively managed, and less natural, forests are included in vegetated man-made habitats.
