Sparse woods of low-growing Pinus sylvestris, and some elements of birch, of maritime climate regions of western Norway, at subalpine levels, with an undergrowth dominated by Calluna vulgaris, Empetrum hermaphroditum, Empetrum nigrum, Vaccinium myrtillus, and with a species cort
