Carpathian Rhododendron kotschyi heaths
Description (English)
Heaths of the subalpine and lower alpine levels (1700-2000 m) of the eastern and southern Carpathian Mountains, common and widespread, but occupying small surfaces, dominated by Rhododendron myrtifolium (Rhododendron kotschyi), Vaccinium gaultherioides and Vaccinium vitis-idaea, with some regional species such as Soldanella hungarica ssp. major, Potentilla aurea ssp. chrysocraspeda, Melampyrum saxosum, Campanula abietina and Campanula serrata.
