Troglobiont invertebrate ice caves

Description (English)

Caves under normally oxygenated, buffered microclimates, harbouring communities of troglobiont invertebrates, and in which past and present conditions permit the retention of glaciers; they are rare, known in particular from the Carpathians of Romania and Slovakia, the Alps and the Jura.
