Description (English)

Ultra-basic serpentinic rocks of the Balkan peninsula and Central Europe. They belong to the most dry and warm habitats. Typical species are Halacsya sendtneri, Potentilla mollis and ferns Asplenium cuneifolium, Notholaena marantae, Asplenium trichomanes. In high-mountain cliffs of southeast Europe Silene serbica, Jovibarba heuffelii var. kopaonikensis, Edraianthus jugoslavicus var. subalpinus, Festuca panciciana, Sedum serpentini occur. The frequency of endemic species is quite high.
