Description (English)
Vast stretches of clayey mud, usually compact, yellowish or bluish grey, relatively substantial, continuing at greater depth the biocenosis of coastal terrigenous muds or the biocenosis of shelf-edge detritic bottom. The biocenosis of bathyal muds is characterised by a constant homoeothermy of around 13
