Ling dwarf shrub hummocks

Description (English)

Calluna vulgaris-dominated shrub hummocks, widespread in the nemoral and boreal zones of the western Palaearctic region, east to the Carpathians and western Siberia, south to the Alpine piedmont and the Pyrenees, most characteristic of Central European and sub-Atlantic Scandinavian bogs, in which Calluna vulgaris is often the only dominant hummock shrub.
