Boreo-Atlantic blanket bogs
Description (English)
Blanket bogs of oceanic southern boreal affinities distributed in maritime western Norway from Rogaland, in the south, north to the Arctic Circle, and in the Faeroe Islands, characterised by the dominance of Calluna-Racomitrium and Calluna-Sphagnum rubellum communities. Additionally, blanket bogs of oceanic northern boreal affinities distributed in maritime western Norway, from southern Nordland to central Troms, characterised by the dominance of Calluna-Empetrum-Sphagnum fuscum communities.
