Boreal marsh-fens
Description (English)
Sedge or grass formations of arctic, subarctic, arctoalpine and boreoalpine regions of the Palaearctic, often almost monospecific, often with an insignificant bryophyte component, sometimes with substantial Calliergon, Bryum or Philonotis moss cover, occupying fine-grained, often sandy, long-submerged but well aerated, alluvial deposits in the inundation zone of rivers, brooks, lakes or deltas, relatively nutrient-rich, in part through the contribution of regular flooding, and with a variable lime content.
