Description (English)

Gravelly beaches can host pioneer communities of the class Ammophiletea consisting mainly of geophytes and hemicryptophytes, e.g. the association Agropyro juncei-Sporoboletum pungentis and the alliance Medicagini marinae-Triplachnion nitensis. They may sporadically be inundated by sea water during storms.
