| Scrubs usually alongside alpine or lowland permanent or temporary waterbodies and comprising mainly willows (includes Salix spp) (sometimes with Myricaria germnanica, Hippophaea rhamnoides, Myrica gale and Frangula alnus) are separated from riverine scrubs more typical of the thermo-Mediterranean climate, such as tamarisk (includes Tamarix) or Nerium oleander, Vitex agnus-castus, Securinegia, Prunus or Viburnum. Note that the willow scrubs may occur in warmer climates as well. | ||
