Description ( English )

Subalpine and alpine meso-hygrophile tall herb formations of moist hollows and gullies of the Alps, the Carpathians, the Dinarides, the Jura, the great Hercynian ranges, the Central Massif and the Apennines. Vegetation of [Adenostylion] with dominant [Adenostyles alliariae] and [Veratrum album], [Chaerophyllum hirsutum], [Cicerbita alpina], [Aconitum] spp. and others also present. In the Carpathians these communities are represented also by alliance [Delphinion elati]. Some habitats are dominated by ferns (e.g. [Athyrium distentifolium], [Dryopteris filix-mas]).
