Description (English)

Subalpine and alpine meso-hygrophile tall herb formations of moist hollows and gullies of the Alps, the Carpathians, the Dinarides, the Jura, the great Hercynian ranges, the Central Massif and the Apennines. Vegetation of Adenostylion with dominant Adenostyles alliariae and Veratrum album, Chaerophyllum hirsutum, Cicerbita alpina, Aconitum spp. and others also present. In the Carpathians these communities are represented also by alliance Delphinion elati. Some habitats are dominated by ferns (e.g. Athyrium distentifolium, Dryopteris filix-mas).
