Description (English)

Unvegetated lake-bottoms or lake-shores temporarily exposed by artificial or natural fluctuations of the water level, often important as feeding grounds for migrating waders. Unvegetated lacustrine beaches, formed by wind or wave action. Succession usually leads to habitats of periodically inundated shores with pioneer and ephemeral vegetation (C3.5).
