Shrub tundra
Description (English)
Tundras of the southernmost tundra belt, characterized by an abundance of medium small and small shrubs, including 1-2 m tall Alnus fruticosa, 0.5-0.8 m tall Salix lanata, Betula nana, Betula exilis, Salix reptans, Salix pulchra, and of dwarf shrubs, in particular, Vaccinium uliginosum, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Ledum decumbens, Rubus chamaemorus, Empetrum hermaphroditum, Empetrum nigrum, Arctostaphylos alpinus. They extend south to the wooded taiga belt.
