Description (English)

Castanea sativa-dominated forests and naturalised plantations of the supra-Mediterranean zone of the Apennines, of lesser hill ranges of the Italian peninsula and of Sicily, at the 200-800 m level and mostly on siliceous soils, for the most part resulting from ancient introductions, probably indigenous in some areas, in particular, Etna and the Euganean hills.
