Glaciers constrained by topography, including cirque glaciers, valley glaciers, mountain glaciers, piedmont glaciers. They are characteristic, in particular, of the large mountain ranges of the Alpine system, occurring also in arctic regions, notably on Novaya Zemlya, in the subpolar and polar Urals, in the east Siberian mountains and, locally, in Iceland.
