Amphibious communities dominated by Ranunculus reptans and Subularia aquatica colonizing, sometimes on large surfaces, the bottom of water bodies of Fennoscandia, Iceland and the Faeroe Islands, mostly in situations characterized by relatively large fluctuations of the water level.
