Central Pannonic calciphile sand fescue steppes
Description (English)
Extremely dry, open, semidesertic grasslands of the Hungarian Little Alföld and the Slovakian Marchfeld, of the Mezõföld and of the Danube-Tisza interfluve, on calcareous sands, with a 50-60% cover at most, constituted by Festuca vaginata, Euphorbia seguierana, Fumana procumbens, Viola rupestris, Alyssum tortuosum, Minuartia fastigiata, and harbouring numerous rare or endemic taxa, including Achillea ochroleuca, Corispermum canescens, Dianthus serotinus, Colchicum arenarium, Astragalus exscapus, Astragalus varius, Iris arenaria, Sedum hillebrandtii, Linum hirsutum ssp. glabrescens, Onosma arenaria, Centaurea arenaria.
