Description (English)

Grasslands of lowlands and lower mountains of Iceland and of the Faeroe Islands dominated by fescues of the Festuca rubra group, in particular, Festuca vivipara, with a species cortège otherwise similar to that of unit E1.7221, including, in particular, Polygonum viviparum (Bistorta vivipara), Kobresia myosuroides, Anthoxanthum odoratum, Carex bigelowii, developed on somewhat drier and sandier substrates than the grasslands of unit E1.7221.
