Peri-Pannonic humid meadows
Description (English)
Humid meadows of river valleys of the eastern Carpathian ranges, their foothills and associated plateaux, of the southern pre-Pannonic foothills of the western Carpathians and of the Central Hungarian Range, similar to the sub-Atlantic meadows of the Calthion palustris and, like them, dominated by species such as Scirpus sylvaticus, Juncus effusus, Cirsium rivulare, Caltha palustris (Caltha laeta), but developed under more subcontinental climatic conditions and accompanied by regional species, in particular Valeriana simplicifolia, Pedicularis limnogena, Ligularia sibirica and Telekia speciosa.
