Mostly low woods of sunny, shallow-soil limestone and dolomite slopes of the Carpinion illyricum zone of northern Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, dominated by Ostrya carpinifolia, facies of the Querco-Ostryetum carpinifoliae hop-hornbeam oak woods of unit G1.73751.
