Eastern Carpathian larch forests
Description (English)
Larix decidua woods on rocky calcareous substrates at the upper limit of the forest zone (1600-1750 metres) of the Southwestern Carpathians, sometimes with Pinus cembra and Picea abies, and with an herb layer formed by Saxifraga cuneifolia, Soldanella hungarica ssp. major, Campanula abietina, Moneses uniflora, Ranunculus carpaticus, Aquilegia transsilvanica, Hieracium rotundatum, Tricetum fuscum.
