East Carpathian Sesleria Scots pine forests
Description (English)
Relict, preice age, forests developed on limestone substrates of the montane level of the Apuseni Mountains of the Southwestern Carpathians and of the Southern Carpathians, dominated by Pinus sylvestris, with numerous calcicolous species such as Sesleria rigida, Helianthemum nummularium ssp. obscurum, Thymus comosus, Asperula capitata, Dianthus spiculifolius, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Sorbus aria and Cotoneaster integerrimus.
