Description (English)
Strings of aapa mires of the Palaearctic domaine dominated by dwarf shrubs, similar to those that occupy raised bog hummocks, in particular Calluna vulgaris, Empetrum spp., Vaccinium uliginosum, Betula nana, Rubus chamaemorus, Ledum palustre, Chamaedaphne calyculata, and in the Usa River basin of northeastern Europe, Alnus fruticosa, associated mostly with Sphagnum fuscum.
