Central Eurasian solonchak grassland with Crypsis
Description (English)
Sparse solonchak formations of annual grasses of genus Crypsis (Heleochloa), accompanied by Cyperus pannonicus (Acorellus pannonicus), Spergularia media (Spergularia marginata), Camphorosma annua, Spergularia marina (Spergularia salina), Salicornia spp., Lepidium latifolium, Chenopodium spp., Atriplex spp., colonizing drying muds of humid depressions of the salt steppes and saltmarshes (c.f. unit E6.21) of Eurasia, from Pannonia to the Far East. In some countries it is a very rare habitat.
