Mostly low woods of sunny, shallow-soil limestone and dolomite slopes of the Carpinion illyricum zone of northern Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, dominated by Quercus pubescens with Quercus cerris, Quercus petraea, Ostrya carpinifolia.
