Dacio-Moesian hornbeam forests
Description (English)
Neutrophile or weakly acidophile forests of southeastern Central Europe, within the range of the Fagion moesiacum, the Fagion dacicum and, locally, of the Quercion frainetto, dominated by Carpinus betulus, alone or with a small admixture of other species, with Carpinion species in the herb layer; they occur in various conditions on hills and in plains, as substitution for mixed forests of Quercus robur or Quercus petraea, Carpinus betulus, Tilia spp., Fraxinus excelsior.
