Description (English)

Unstable, gravelly, humus-poor, highly calcareous screes of the subalpine, low alpine and middle alpine levels of boreal and arctic mountains. Characteristic plants are Arenaria norvegica and a number of endemic species or species of restricted range, including Arenaria humifusa, Arenaria pseudofrigida, Artemisia norvegica, Papaver species of the Papaver radicatum group, Papaver relictum, Papaver laestadianum, Braya linearis.
