Tufa cascades of karstic rivers of the Dinaric Alps
Description (English)
Tufa barrages forming large vegetated barriers across rivers in karstic regions of the Dinaric Alps, with well known examples in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia. The vegetation is rich in algae, bryophytes and ferns (Eucladio-Adiantetum) and tufa is being actively deposited.
