Description (English)
This facies, very rare in the western Mediterranean, is characterised by an aggregation of Pollicipes pollicipes on steep rocky walls in areas of pure water and extremely rough waters with waves breaking. Its upper surface may emerge a few decimeters above the middle sea level. It is particularly hard to see, rarely mentioned, and ill known.
