Description (English)

Rock in the infralittoral zone exposed to wave action and typically covered by foliose algal communities occuring on exposed rocky coasts from low water to depths of 10m. Mytilids are a constant component. Characteristic species include: Mytilus galloprovincialis, Mytilaster lineatus, Lophosiphonia obscura, Ceramium ciliatum, Padina pavonica, Grateloupia dichotoma, Dilophus fasciola, F. repens, Polysiphonia opaca, Ceramium ciliatum, Ulva compressa, Ulva intestinalis, Ulva linza.
