Association with Cystoseira sauvageauana
Description (English)
This association is characterised by the brown alga Cystoseira sauvageauana. It is found in very sheltered superficial photophilous biotopes (from 0 to 1 meter) and around 15 meters into the Posidonia meadow. It forms dense prairies that cover, as substratum, a well developed sciaphilous population. In the eastern Mediterranean, it is replaced by its vicarian Cystoseira spinosa v. tenuior.
