Facies of hydrothermal oozes with Tritia neritea and nematodes
Description (English)
This facies is characterised by the gastropod Tritia neritea and some species of nematodes. The facies are present between 3 - 15 meters depth with high hydrothermal activity, which constitute a very special environment: greatly reduced sediment, poor macrofauna, and meiofauna dominated by a rich community of nematodes.
