Description (English)

Mediterranean circalittoral coarse sands, gravel and shingle generally in depths of over 15-20m. Characteristic species are red algae species of the family Corallinaceae; Bivalves: Atrina pectinata, Venus casina, Dosinia exoleta, Donax variegatus, Glycymeris glycymeris, Laevicardium crassum; Echinoderms:
Spatangus purpureus; Hydrozoans: Lytocarpia myriophyllum; Polychaetes: Sigalion squamosus, Armandiapolyophthalma; Ophiuroids: Ophiopsila annulosa; and Crustaceans: Anapagurus breviaculeatus, Thia scutellata.
