Carex rostrata quaking mires
Description (English)
Transition mire communities of boreal and western nemoral regions dominated by Carex rostrata or, in western Siberia, Carex rotundata, on sphagnum or, sometimes, pleurocarp carpets, usually constituting sparse low formations. They extend south to the mountains of the Caucasus. Vegetation of alliance Caricetum rostratae.
